How to request account deletion
You can request deletion using either method below.
Method 1 — In the app (RECOMMENDED)
- Open the Virgin Mary & St. John Church App
- Sign in
- Go to Profile
- Tap Request account deletion
This opens an email pre-filled with your registered email address and your user ID. Review the message and send it to complete your request.
Method 2 — By email
Email application@virginmarybayonne.com with:
- Subject: Account deletion request — Virgin Mary & St. John Church app
- Include: your full name and registered email address
What data is deleted
When your account is deleted, we remove the following user-specific data tied to your account:
- Account credentials (email/password or OAuth link)
- Profile information: name, address, phone number, date of birth, profile picture
- Push notification tokens and notification preferences
- In-app notification history
- Verse reflections
- Prayer requests (encrypted content and metadata)
- Confession appointment bookings and reminder settings
- Any other user-specific app data tied to the account
What data may be retained
Some limited data may be kept after account deletion:
- Security and audit logs (for example, profile change history) may be retained for fraud prevention for up to 90 days, after which they are deleted or anonymized.
- Data outside the app — such as emails you already sent to support, or information you exported before deletion — is not removed by account deletion alone.
We do not retain aggregated, non-identifiable analytics from the app at this time.
Processing timeline
We process verified deletion requests within 30 days. We may contact you at your registered email address if we need to confirm your identity before completing deletion.
